Today in DC, we all woke up to snow on the ground! It was really pretty walking around with all the snow. Before work, Madison and I stopped by Starbucks, as always, and headed to work. I got a tall peppermint hot chocolate. Today at work I pulled a bunch of different samples for customers. I love looking at the samples different people order. Sometimes I really like the fabric and other times I really wonder what the person was thinking when they picked it. Osborne and Little, the company I work for, has really cool wallpapers. They are known for their contemporary style and I have seen lots of wallpapers that I would love. They have really interesting vintage collections that I really like. Another big thing I had to do today was print out new price labels for the wall paper. I had to use a label maker and make about 100 new price tags. Next, I would go into the sample room with the wallpapers on display and place the new price over the old one. The new price is always higher than the old one, the price isn’t changing because it’s going on sale. As I’m doing this, like I said, I love to look at all the different wallpapers. I also did lots of various sorts of busy work, such as pulling labels off old fabrics that were on display. One thing that really gets me through the day at Osborne and Little is the music playing in the office. Today we listened to the album Whoa, Nelly! by Nelly Furtado, which I own so I recognized it and we also listened to the album Heavier Things by John Mayor. On our lunch break today, Madison and I went to a really cute restaurant called Vie de France. We actually went yesterday as well but we thought each other’s meals looked so good that we went again today and traded meals from the day before.
Tonight we went to the Wizards game and it was so much fun! Mrs. Teaff and her husband even joined us. The Wizards were playing the Magic from Orlando, Florida. At the beginning of the game, one of the Wizards players came out and apologized for the recent events of one of their teammates pulling a gun on the team in the locker room. It was a really nice speech and it was motivational. During half time, they brought out two giant trampolines and a very big, tall plastic platform in the middle. We had no idea what they were going to do with this but four guys got on the top of the platform and jumped onto the trampolines on either side and would do lots of tricks and jump back onto the platform. It’s hard to explain and picture it but it was a lot like skateboarders skating on a ramp except without the skateboard and without the ramp. We’re actually not sure who won because we left with 10 minutes to go. After the game, we went to Dupont Circle and walked around a lot. We went in one really cute coffee shop/dessert place called Cosi. We all got hot chocolate and Elaina got a really yummy s’mores dish, which we all mooched off of. They were regular s’mores except instead of gram crackers; they had two giant sized Oreo cookies to put on the ends. She got her own little personal fire and everything! We’re all exhausted after this really fun night but we’re excited for our brunch tomorrow morning and sleeping in!
