Girls on the Hill!

Today is Day 5 in Washington D.C., and it has been such an amazing experience. I am working in Senator Shelby’s office on Capitol Hill, and I love it. Working in the Senate is so much fun and there are so many nice people in my office. There are about eight girls and they are all cute and fun. Most of them went to the University of Alabama, but ended up moving to D.C. to work in politics. When I am working I mostly do little things like running to the flag room, opening mail, filing, and little things around the office. Some days are really slow but still fun because of the people I am around. I also love working because I get to wear really cute clothes every day which is a lot different than waking up and putting on a uniform. I go back to work tomorrow, and I hope that is just exciting as last week was.

Today was a very relaxed day. I am rooming with Molly and Cele, and we did not wake up until twelve today. We have been so exhausted from work this past week so it was nice getting to sleep in. Today was all about shopping in Georgetown so when Cece and Isabel came to our room we headed out the door. We went to a few different stores including Cusp, Wink, Urban Outfitters, and H&M. There were so many cute boutiques in Georgetown, but I had to restrain myself from going in so that I did not spend too much money. My friends and I went to Johnny Rockets for lunch because it was cheap and fast but it was really good. Cece, Cele, and I had milkshakes and they were delicious! After lunch we headed back to the hotel to hang out for a little bit. Later tonight we had a group dinner at this restaurant called Marshall’s. It was really fun and the food was great! After dinner we all came back to the hotel and some of us piled into Cece, Isabel, and Meredith’s room, watched TV, and hung out. Right now it is Isabel, Elaina, Meredith, Cece, Cele, and I watching Teen Moms and having a great time. Since I have to wake up early tomorrow, I am going to bed.

More later, Catherine S.
